Bref.

Mixes #3: Desimal
I feel like I have to give more sound by Desimal. He's got a lot of unreleased tunes (actually even more than he has released, I guess), but here are two nice mixes.
The first one is a long (85') ambient psydub track that mixes tunes I've never heard of. Desimal was a very diversified artist that went through quantities of different musical styles. He had so many influences. The ten first minutes of this mix are just the intro. Desimal takes his time and delivers nice pieces of asian trance, indian and even banghra music.
The second mix is a kind of a live tribute to Desimal, by Badhabitz, whom I really never heard of (the only Badhabitz I found out is an English hip hop producer...). Anyway, this mix gathers nicely the best DNB/neurofunk tracks of Desimal. You'll easily recognize what's on at 2' if you remember that post, hehe.
+ I find out a nice interview of Skream three years ago, on Blackdown: HERE.

Beaumont Hannant - Psi-Onyx
I don't know much about Beaumont Hannant, except he apparently used to be one of the acid IDM pionners. Anyway, I recently acquiered this remix 12". I don't know the original stuff, but the Autechre remix (on B side) is just outstanding. The Cherry Bomb (aka Richard Brown) stuff is my favorite tune here. A mad seven minutes psy house trip.

I don't realy know why I put this video clip on my blog, but this sounded so electro, so deep, so... filtered to me! I'm high, but I think I'm not saying total bullshit. Well, that's it. I bought myself a Jew's harp. Hope you'll enjoy it!

Emalkay - Testing The Waters EP
I discovered Emalkay (from Boka Records) recently, and it blew me up. It became one of my favorites dubstep releases. This is EP is not just another bassy stuff. This three tunes are absolutely awesome and nicely DNB influenced. Some kind of heavy sound. Bats In The Belfry is actually my favourite track in this 12". A must have.

Mixes #2: Harcore DNB
A little break in that dubstep avalanche. Here's something more violent to pass the time, a few hard drum'n'bass mixes I found on the Internet. I don't know exactly who are the guys and what are the setlists (as I don't know a shit about this kind of music), but this sounds good to me. Highlight: the December's Mix, by Mystification.

Rusko - William H Tonkers / Roma
To continue with 2nd Drop Records, here's another release that deserves a close look. That's more tribal dubstep. William H Tonkers really has this reggae-dub groove, but the main sample is so freaking insane. Quite a clubby sound, but it can be a nice headphones' stuff too. Nice heavy filters.
Rusko is not so famous, but remember the awesome Fabriclive #37 he did with Caspa. He aslo released a few 12" on the excellent label Dub Police, last year.

Ramadanman - Good Feelin / The Woon
One of my favorite dubstep 12". I don't know much about Ramadanman (as about 2nd Drop Records) but this release blew me up. These tracks are so well built, and very smooth. A side is an incredible tune sampling Feeling Good by Nina Simone (this fantastic soul song awfully covered by M*se). AA is done in the same slow style. Jamie Woon (electrofunk producer) sing just the perfect way. A very atmospheric release. The drum parts are so complex and well built. Really one of the best. Watch out the future productions of Ramadanman ; it should be mind blowing.

Pinch - Punisher (Remixes)
Introducing a long series of my favourite dubstep releases.
First, a Planet Mu 12", two remixes of the excellent Pinch's Punisher (by the way, if you have this release, please share it !). First one is by Loefah and second one (the best) is by the young superstar UK dubstep producer Skream. Loefah's remix is very bassy, but Skream's work is definitely the finest. Anyway, this is a must-have.

Autechre's Quaristice is already available on Bleep (as usual), one month before its official physical release. All you need to know about this new album (tour dates, mp3 or flac dl...) is here.
By the way, don't forget:
"Autechre will present a live internet radio show - streaming via this website (www.autechre.ws) on Saturday 23rd February (the weekend before the physical album release date and start of the world tour)."
World tour, world tour, wo... Gnnnn. Well! Here are three tracks from Quaristice. I don't have the full album yet, but had the occasion to listen to it entirely. And this is good. Very acid, glitchy, drilly and ex-pe-ri-MENTAL. Enjoy.

Mixes #1: Dj Shadow / Cut Chemist
These two dudes may have done the finest cut-up / trip-hop mixes I´ve ever heard.
The Hard Sale, their new mix to come, is really ace, especially the second part that mixes dubstep and kind of indus sounds with vintage 60's rock tunes. Not as funky as the oldies, but still the best shit Dj Shadow did in a looong time. Must have been sick to see this live. Really awesome.

Just the day I arrive in France, I learn that my favorite record seller is about to close (Rennes Musique, in Rennes). Crap, crap, crap. Is that the end of the independent disc traders, at least in France? Scary situation (there's only one indy record seller left in Rennes now).

Last up before I stay 26 hours in an airplaine seat with NO mp3 player (I leave tomorrow, damn).
This one is a fucking great record. One of the best stuffs by Mr. Oizo, that introduces some genious glitchy sounds but these tunes are definitely dancefloor. Last days in Australia
As I get back to France in ten days (after a trippy week in Darwin), I've checked the gigs in Rennes. I hardly found correct concerts (as always, winter is a fucked up season for concerts in France), but I believe the few I noticed will really be sick.
I was happy to learn that electronic music is still growing hard in Britanny. With Antiplastic, we finally have an electro fest IN Rennes and IN winter. Even if I only listen to the French band dDamage regularly, other names (such as Menthine) sound good to me. Also don't miss the Martin Libertin mix, the same night. Anyway, this will be a 100% French electro festival!
Later in february, Ez3kiel is touring all around France for the promotion of Battlefiel (which I haven't listened yet). So, if you like Jarring Effect and if you're a fan a of deep ambient electro dub, you really can't miss that shit.
The really really good surprise is that they're touring with Robert le Magnifique! You should know him as the live DJ of Rubin Steiner last year, but he also released three sick electro hip hop albums on idwet (a very nice French hip hop label). I guess this really makes Ez3kiel's tour unmissable.

(I don't have any Robert le Magnifque tune with me now, but you can check his Myspace.)

Boards of Canada - Unreleased Tracks
Nice 12" but, really, Korona masters it all.
Sides A and B are iverted in the cover, don't now why. Some kind of printing mistake.

What's on these times
Thursday, mashup star Girl Talk gig was totally insane at The Zoo, Brisbane. I not particularly a huge fan (listening to his albums bores me, to be honest), but watching him doing his sampling and mashing stuff live was fucking sick. First parts weren't unforgetable.
From The Zoo site:
"From Pittsburgh, USA, Girl Talk is a true musical phenomenon of the digital era. In the spirit of illegal art pioneers, 2Many DJ's and Dangermouse, Girl Talk took the 'mash up' aesthetic to a new level of madness. After his thrilling performance at Meredith Music Festival last year, it's no wonder every festival in the country wanted him this summer.
Gregg’s breakthrough record of last year 'Night Ripper' contained 16 individual 'songs' that used over 200 samples, sitting Elton next to Lil Jon, the O.C theme song blended with classic punk. 'Night Ripper' quickly became the soundtrack to summer. The Girl Talk live show is an over the top affair. He quickly shatters notions of the dull laptop artist, with pounding beats, Top 40 samples, wild dance moves and a mob of party people crowding around the stage."
Here are a few pleasant studio tunes from the Night Ripper album.

Also, if you are from Brisbane, you might have missed (has I bloody did) People Under The Stairs, yesterday at The Uber, a nice West End night club.
By the way, in the same club, if you're a hip hop dood, don't miss the great Dr Octagon (best known as Kool Keith). It's on the 19th.
